We were given the sacred gift of organ donation.

Though he was declared legally brain dead, we kept him on life support for two more days. Two days of unbearable heartache…knowing he was gone yet choosing to keep his body alive so his organs could be strong enough to save others.

It was the hardest thing I've ever done… to hold on just a little longer when every part of me was already breaking.

But even in that agony, there was a flicker of grace: knowing his story wouldn't end with loss, but with life.

Amid the deepest sorrow came one quiet blessing:
I was the first to kiss him, and the last.
Love held us in both hello and goodbye.

“Organ donation is a final act of love…a gift that turns loss into life. In grief, it offers healing. In death, it gives hope. It’s proof that even in our darkest hour, we can still save someone else’s tomorrow”
